Remember those games that transcend mere entertainment and leave a lasting impression? That was Journey for me. I went in blind, knowing nothing but its Game of the Year accolades. Little did I know I was about to embark on a gaming experience unlike any other.
A Wordless Tale Told Through Beauty and Sound
From the moment I booted up the game, I was captivated. The sand dunes stretched out before me, the music swelled, and I found myself mesmerized by the simple act of walking through the sand. With only distant landmarks to guide me, I set off on my journey.

The Ascent and the Aftermath
Revived and transformed, I completed the final ascent alone, soaring through the air in an almost ethereal state. Was this a journey through the afterlife? A metaphor for life’s challenges and triumphs?
The ending, with its credits sequence and my character transforming into a shooting star, left me pondering its meaning long after the game ended.
My Interpretation
For me, Journey represents a pilgrimage through life and beyond. We start alone, encounter others, compete, collaborate, and ultimately face our own mortality. The ending suggests a cycle of rebirth and renewal, a reminder that even in death, there is beauty and hope.
I’m still curious about the identity of my companion. Who were they? What did they take away from our shared experience? Journey doesn’t tell you, and that’s part of its magic.
